Gizzard Stew

This very easy and once the chicken gizzards are boiled, this dish is very fast.

Gizzard Stew Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken gizzards

  • water to cover

  • 4 (3 ounce) packages chicken flavored ramen noodles

  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour

  • water as needed

  • salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Gizzard Stew

  1. Rinse gizzards and place in a large pot. Add water to cover, cover pot with lid and boil over medium high heat until gizzards are tender, about 30 to 45 minutes.

  2. Once gizzards are tender, drain 1/2 of the water out of the pot. In a small bowl, combine the ramen flavor packet mixes with the flour and add enough water to liquefy mixture. Pour into pot with gizzards and season with salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce/gravy is thickened to taste.

  3. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add ramen noodles and cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until al dente; drain and serve hot with gizzards stew on top.

Gizzard Stew Reviews

  • I put the gizzards in a slow cooker with chicken broth and cooked all day on low. When I got home from work the gizzards were very tender. I then added two packages of chicken ramen with the flavor packets to the slow cooker for another half hour until the noodles were done. Very good and very easy.

  • YUM There aint nothing like a good, cheap gizzard stew and this one takes the cake, LOL

  • It took a lot longer to cook until tender. In my kitchen, 90 minutes.I diced one small onion and added it to the reserved liquid and simmered 15 minutes before finishing step 2.All in all, a very enjoyable meal to prepare and eat. A side salad with it made a delightful meal.

  • I didnt have ramen so I took 1/2 cube of chicken bouillon with 1/4 diced onion and let it cook with gizzards. I then cooked rice with 1/4 of chicken bouillon and garlic to accompany the gizzards.

  • Thought it was great I love Chicken Gizzards

  • Didnt have ramen soup so just used chicken broth and chicken gravy mix.served with rice. really good.
